Food Service Enterprise

FSW has been delivering high quality, nutritious meals to homes and daycare centers in greater Bridgeport for nearly 30 years.  Beginning with Meals on Wheels in 1975 and continuing today with new offerings through our Family Fare program, FSW’s fleet of food delivery trucks has traveled to every corner of our six town primary service area. Our customers include residents of Bridgeport, Fairfield, Monroe, Easton, Stratford and Trumbull and, on occasion, even some who live beyond those communities.

Our strong tradition of helping to feed the needy has become an opportunity for us to offer everyone convenient, nutritious and delicious frozen dinners delivered directly to your home each week.  Our offerings are described below.  For more information, e-mail kpontin@fswinc.org or call 203-368-5582 and ask for Food Services.

Meals on Wheels — Meals on Wheels provides two nutritious meals and low fat milk to homebound elderly and disabled customers living in our six-town service area Monday through Friday.  Arrangements can be made to provide meals for weekends as well.  We offer a wide range of therapeutic diets.  Meals on Wheels can be ordered directly by the customer or by a friend or family member.  The customer need not be on government assistance of any kind.  The true value of this service is the peace of mind brought on by knowing that the recipient is eating healthy, diet-conscious meals. 

Family Fare — Available to the general public, Family Fare is one of our newer services, offering complete nutrition for breakfast, lunch or dinner.  These meals can also be provided in a dietary-sensitive nature for those with therapeutic needs.  Family Fare meals are delivered fresh daily to our customer’s door in microwave/oven safe containers.  Contact us for more information about menu and delivery options.

Homeplate — Available to the general public, Homeplate is our premiere home delivery food service offering a choice of 14 different menu items.  Select seven home cooked entrees and we’ll deliver them frozen for freshness right to your door.  A fine selection of fine breads and rolls will accompany your order.  Our Homeplate meals are substantial and will satisfy even the heartiest appetite.  Take a break from cooking or ordering fast food!  Homeplate is an excellent, healthy alternative. 

KidzPlate — It’s a fact.  Good eating habits are established during childhood.  We know that quality nutrition improves health, insures proper growth and sharpens cognitive skills.  We also know that kids have minds of their own when it comes to food.  KidzPlate can be the answer.  For about the cost of a fast food kid meal, FSW can deliver KidzPlate meals—breakfast, lunch or dinner and a snack--directly to your home.  Kidzplate meals follow strict federal government content guidelines offering a variety of tasty menu items that are low in saturated fats and sugars. 

Also, KidzPlate meals are available at no cost for children attending licensed home day care facilities in the City of Bridgeport.  The KidzPlate home day care program is fully funded by the federal government’s Child and Adult Care Food Program.  KidzPlate staff will plan meals and deliver them directly to the day care provider’s home.  If you’re a licensed home day care provider who would like to learn more about this offer, please contact us.
