FSW believes that families need financial skills to build assets. Our programs offer financial education services to help families achieve and sustain economic stability.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) FSW provides free tax filing assistance for low- to moderate-income ($40,000 and below) families, particularly those eligible for earned income tax credits. Homeowners Assistance Program provides a grant of up to $4,000 to Bridgeport homeowners who are at least 60 days behind in their mortgage payments and are temporarily in a demonstrable financial crisis situation. Empowering People for Success Clients referred to FSW by the Department of Social Services and the Department of Labor receive intensive, solution-focused case management and care coordination that identifies and reduces barriers to sustained employment, with the goal of self reliance and healthy independence.
